The Crime of Love
The Crime of Love
Little Children in the Divine Will

Jesus, I fuse myself in Your Divine Will.
With Your own Love, I come to love You.

Before Annas, bound at night,
innocent, You stand in light.
Asked about the words You gave,
You tell them, ask those who heard.
Then a servant strikes Your Face,
with an iron fist in rage.
Staggering beneath the pain,
Jesus, I love and bless You there.
For the laughter, for the blow,
I give the love that souls owe You.

Dragged away into the night,
down the stairs they cast You, Lord.
Bruised and wounded, bound in chains,
I place my love in every pain.
Before Caiaphas, lies arise,
false accusers fill the night.
Blood is flowing from Your wrists;
I love and bless You suffering this.
They tear Your hair and strike Your Face,
twist Your lips in cruel disgrace.
For the hatred given there,
I bring my love, my thanks, my prayer.

“My child, I have committed no crime.
Mine is the crime of Love,
which contains all sacrifices—
Love of immeasurable value…”

Jesus, in Your Divine Will,
I love, bless, and honor You.
For every soul, in every age,
I proclaim Your innocence.

Silent Jesus, meek and calm,
one glance falls upon their hearts.
They cannot bear its holy light;
one by one they turn aside.
I love and honor that sweet gaze,
giving love where hatred raged.
When the hearts of men depart,
I remain beside Your Heart.

Before Pilate, bound You stand;
he finds no guilt within this Man.
Knowing well that You are innocent,
he yields beneath the crowd’s demand.
Jesus, I love and honor You,
condemned by one who knows the truth.
For every soul who fears the crowd,
I choose Your truth and love You now.

“My child, I have committed no crime.
Mine is the crime of Love,
which contains all sacrifices—
Love of immeasurable value…”

Jesus, in Your Divine Will,
I love, bless, and honor You.
For every soul, in every age,
I proclaim Your innocence.

Before Herod, questions rise;
he demands a wondrous sign.
Not a single word is heard;
silent stands the Eternal Word.
Jesus, I love Your silence there,
and bless the lips that make no answer.
Infinite Wisdom, mocked as mad,
I give the honor others lacked.
Clothed in white for their contempt,
Your majesty they cannot see.
Jesus, in that bitter shame,
I love and bless Your holy Name.

Thrown beneath their cruel feet,
You endure it, calm and meek.
Spittle falls upon Your Face;
rods descend in hate and rage.
Into every blow—my love.
Into every wound—a blessing.
Where they mock, I give You praise;
where they scorn, I give You honor.
Beside Barabbas now You stand;
the guilty one is set free.
When the crowd rejects its King,
Jesus, I choose You for all.

Before Annas—innocent.
Caiaphas—innocent.
Before Herod—innocent.
Before Pilate—innocent.
No accusation stains Your Name.
No earthly sentence makes You guilty.
Spotless Lamb, no crime in You—
only Love, only Love.

[Final Chorus]

“My child, I have committed no crime.
Mine is the crime of Love,
which contains all sacrifices—
Love of immeasurable value…”

Jesus, in Your Divine Will,
I love, bless, and honor You.
For every soul, in every age,
I proclaim Your innocence.

Your only crime is Love.
Your only crime is Love.
