Who Is Luisa Piccarreta?

He also told her that His usual way is to pick one person to whom He gives His gift - like St. Francis or St. Teresa - and that He chose her as the “Little Daughter of His Divine Will.”

I called you as a second mother to Me, and just as I did with My Mother in the Kingdom of Redemption, I revealed to you, intimately, the many secrets of My Divine Fiat, Its great goodness, and Its desire to come to reign upon the earth.

God Chose Luisa To Share With Us The Gift of His Divine Will

Luisa (Servant of God) was a mystic born and baptized on what is now called Divine Mercy Sunday (the answer to St. Faustina’s Prayer of Mercy).

“Luisa was born on April 23rd, 1865 (a Sunday which St. John Paul II later declared as the Feast Day of Divine Mercy Sunday, according to the Lord’s request in the writings of St.Faustina). She was one of five daughters who lived in the small city of Corato, Italy. From her earliest years, Luisa was afflicted by the devil who appeared to her in frightful dreams. As a result, she spent long hours praying the Rosary and invoking the protection of the saints. It wasn’t until she became a “Daughter of Mary” that the nightmares finally ceased at the age of eleven. In the following year, Jesus began to speak interiorly to her especially after receiving Holy Communion. When she was thirteen, He appeared to her in a vision that she witnessed from the balcony of her home. There, in the street below, she saw a crowd and armed soldiers leading three prisoners; she recognized Jesus as one of them. When He arrived beneath her balcony, He raised his head and cried out: “Soul, help Me!” Deeply moved, Luisa offered herself from that day on as a victim soul in expiation for the sins of mankind.

During those times when she was not in ecstasy, Luisa would write down what Jesus or Our Lady dictated to her. Those revelations comprise two smaller works called The Blessed Virgin Mary in the Kingdom of the Divine Will and The Hours of the Passion, as well as 36 volumes on the three Fiats in salvation history. On August 31, 1938, specific editions of the two smaller works and another of Luisa’s volumes were placed on the Church’s Index of Prohibited Books beside those of St. Faustina Kowalksa and Antonia Rosmini—all of which were eventually rehabilitated by the Church. Today, those works of Luisa now bear the Nihil Obstat and Imprimatur and, in fact, the “condemned” editions are not even available or in print anymore, and haven’t been for a long time.” (Source)

Jesus told Luisa there have been many good sanctities in His church, but this is not a movement. Rather this is about His Divine Will, which is the source from which all these sanctities have come. He is giving us His Will. This is the greatest gift.

Jesus told Luisa there are 3 Fiats - today we’re living in the 3rd FIAT.

As I deposited in the Sovereign Queen of Heaven everything pertaining to the Kingdom of Redemption, so did I deposit in you (Luisa) what pertains to the Kingdom of My Supreme FIAT.

“During this time I have always spoken to you of My Will and of the sublime and indescribable effects which this Will contains which I have not manifested to anyone until now Go through as many books as you want, and you will see that in none of them will you find what I have told you about My Will.” (Book of Heaven, Vol.11, Sept. 12, 1913)

Funeral Liturgy and Burial of Luisa Piccarreta In 1947

“More than forty priests, the Capitolo [the Ecclesiastical authorities] and the local Clergy, were present; the sisters, who brought her on their shoulders in turns, and an immense crowd of citizens. The streets along which the procession was to pass, were packed – incredibly; even the balconies and the roofs of the houses were crammed with people, and the procession proceeded with great difficulty. The funeral was celebrated in the Matrice Church by the entire Capitolo. All the people of Corato followed the body of Luisa to the cemetery, and everyone tried to bring home a souvneir of the flowers which had accompanied and touched the body. A few years later, the body of Luisa was transferred to her Parish Church of Santa Maria Greca, where she is humbly waiting for her glorification.”

SAINTHOOD

Luisa’s cause for sainthood is underway in Rome, and although her message is extremely unique, the theologians at the Vatican state that all her writings are in communion with the Catholic Church and its teachings. Moreover, it confirms the words of Pope St. John Paul II who spoke of a “New and Divine Holiness” for the 3rd Millennium of Christianity.

She lays the foundation of living in the Divine Will - we enjoy the fruits of it. And we need to cooperate with the graces and then we can open up through our acts the pathways for future generations.
