In the Mystery of Your Transfiguration

Lord, I fuse myself in Your Divine Will,

and here I pray.

Holy Jesus, in Your Divine Will,

I love You calling them apart:

Peter, James, and John with You,

You lead them upward from the start.

I bless You in each step You take,

ascending for their sake.

I praise You there upon the height,

withdrawn with them to pray.

And as You pray, Your form is changed,

Your glory shines like day.

Before their eyes, a wondrous light

breaks forth upon the height.

I adore You, transfigured,

Your Face shining like the sun.

Your garments gleam in radiant white,

the vision has begun.

I glorify Your hidden light,

now shining in their sight.

In all Your Divine acts

in the mystery of Your Transfiguration,

I bless You, love You, praise You,

adore and glorify You.

May Your Kingdom come,

may Your Will be done

on earth as it is in Heaven.

I praise You as Moses and Elijah

appear with You in glory.

They speak with You of Your departure,

and all that lies before Thee,

of what You will accomplish

in Jerusalem.

I bless You in Peter’s wonder:

“Lord, it is good for us to be here.”

Overcome by all he sees,

he longs to keep You near:

one tabernacle for You,

for Moses and Elijah too.

I glorify You as the bright cloud

comes and overshadows them.

I praise You as the Father speaks:

“This is My beloved Son,

in whom I am well pleased:

hear ye Him.”

In all Your Divine acts

in the mystery of Your Transfiguration,

I bless You, love You, praise You,

adore and glorify You.

May Your Kingdom come,

may Your Will be done

on earth as it is in Heaven.

I love You as Your apostles,

hearing the voice, fall down in fear.

I bless You as You come to them,

drawing ever near.

You touch them gently where they lie:

“Arise, and fear not.”

I adore You as they lift their eyes

and suddenly see only You.

The cloud has passed, the vision fades,

Moses and Elijah too.

The glory they had seen is gone,

yet You remain with them alone.

I praise You coming down the mountain,

I bless You every step of the way.

You tell them not to speak

of what they have seen that day,

until the Son of Man

has risen from the dead.

In all Your Divine acts

in the mystery of Your Transfiguration,

I bless You, love You, praise You,

adore and glorify You.

May Your Kingdom come,

may Your Will be done

on earth as it is in Heaven.
